Week 8 College Football Picks (Feat: Tony’s Top Three)

Last week my picks were 6-4 and Tony went 2-1.  The Firm was 9-5 overall to move to a respectable 52-41 on the year.  I haven’t put a blue horseshoe Ω on anything since I went 1-3 on horseshoes a month ago but I’m feeling confident again and looking to ride the Firm’s wave of success from last week.

Week 8 Picks

Oregon vs. UCLA  |  OVER 67.5

Over and Over – Nelly feat. Tim McGraw | UCLA has hit the over in 6 of 7 games this year. Both defenses suck. Expecting another wild Pac 12 game which means I should probably go the other direction but oh well. Rooting for Defense is no fun.

Tennessee vs. Alabama  |  Alabama -35

Tennessee vs. Alabama  |  OVER 50.5 Ω

Let Her Cry – Hootie and the Blowfish | “This mornin I woke up alone, found a note standin by the phone, Sayin maybe, maybe I’ll be back someday.” That’s about how I feel as a Tennessee fan. Might as well profit from my misery. Picking the Over assuming Tennessee scores no more than 6 points.

Michigan vs. Penn State  |  Penn State -9.5

White Room – Cream  | “I’ll wait in this place where the sun never shines. Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves.” There will be no sun shining for Harbaugh and Big Blue in a Whited Out Happy Valley, just a future Heisman Trophy winner running all over and John O’Korn running from himself.

North Carolina vs. Virginia Tech  |  Virginia Tech -20

North Carolina vs. Virginia Tech  |  OVER 51.5

We Can’t Stop – Miley Cyrus  |  “This is our house, this is our rules. And we can’t stop, and we won’t stop. Can’t you see it’s we who own the night?” VT is better than 2016 and UNC is infinitely worse. Last year the Hokies came in (like a Wrecking Ball) and beat UNC 34-3 in Chapel Hill last year. They’re in Blacksburg tomorrow.  North Carolina hasn’t stopped anyone all year, is 1-6 straight up and ATS this year. Basketball season will be here sooner than you know it Tar Heel fans, just hold on.

LSU vs. Ole Miss  |  LSU -7 Ω

How You Remind Me – Nickelback | Hey Ole Miss, remember when you fired Coach O in 2007 (He was 10-25 in 3 years, but that’s not the point)?  Well he hasn’t forgotten. And he’s coming back to Oxford to remind you. Not sure why the spread is only 7 because the Rebels/Rebel Black Bears/Landsharks? don’t have a prayer* (that was also a little pun taking a shot at Hugh Freeze).

Purdue vs. Rutgers  |  Purdue -9.5

Atlantic City – Bruce Springsteen | “Now there’s trouble busin’ in from outta state and the D.A. can’t get no relief.” I think Springsteen is possibly the most overrated singer of all time but he’s from Jersey and these lyrics fit.  Purdue is better than their 3-3 record and Rutgers sucks. In depth analysis there. You’re welcome.

Indiana vs. Michigan St  |  Michigan St -6.5 Ω

Indiana vs. Michigan St  |  OVER 46.5

You’re Still the One – Shania Twain | Ain’t nothin’ better, We beat the odds together, I’m glad we didn’t listen, Look at what we would be missin’. Mark Dantonio has been coaching at Michigan State since 2007. Some people questioned him after Sparty went 3-9 last year. Shame on you. Michigan State has bounced back this year in a big way and despite beating Michigan, they’re still a little underrated by Vegas. I think they bear Indiana by at least 2 scores this weekend.  Both teams can score and that total seems low so take the over too.

Tony doesn’t have any major thoughts to share other than most people in society suck and are losers.  With that said, here’s what Tony has to follow up his 2-1 week (he’s back to even for the year at 12-12).

Florida State -7

UT San Antonio vs Rice – OVER 53

Washington State -10
